Back in Malaysia

Well hullo there again!

Alright alright.. so I didn't have the time to update my blog before I left since I was sooo busy during the last few days. Anyway, that last week was really a crazy one. 'Eventful' would be a serious understatement. At the end of it all, I was left both physically and mentally drained.

It all began with me ending my vegetarianism.. completing a whole 1 year cycle. I didn't miss chicken all that much, but I did miss fish and seafood. 3 incredibly challenging finals came on the heels of that, and at the end of it I was just glad it was over. There was one night when I had no sleep whatsoever just because I stayed up studying for my Organic Chemistry II exam at 8 am the next day. Next up came the stuff I needed to settle before my flight home to Malaysia. Purchasing souvenirs and packing came to mind. However I had to put that on hold for there was something much more important right before me.. MOVING OUT! So yea.. the next few days were tiring to say the least, as we moved our stuff to the new house 3 blocks away from campus after cleaning it up and also purchased new furniture and basic necessities. Between these days I also attempted to complete my application process for my Social Security Number, only to find out after 2 trips and a 3 hour wait that i CAN'T make my SSN yet since I only start work in August.. haihzz.. waste of precious time indeed.

To go with all this, there was also a birthday for which I was running errands. Once the dust on all this settled, I was finally all set to head home (I did take a few shots of our new apartment and will post the pictures soon once I've uploaded the photos). For my final dinner in Chicago before my departure, we all went to Chinatown to have a Malaysian meal at Penang.. (Odd choice.. since Kwong Hann and I were coming back to Malaysia anyway). We basically met up with this guy from the University of Waterloo named Boon Yoon and we ended up chatting for hours. Next morning, I was off to the airport. It was a pretty smooth trip all the way, except for this one Korean guy in Atlanta (one of my transit points) who confused me by saying I would need to 'recheck-in' my baggages. The food on the flight wasn't too shabby, and I only hope it was spicier. I finally reached KLIA very late on Monday, and my family was there to pick me up. Was great to see all of em' after such a long time.

Anyway, I haven't really met up with any friends yet although it has been a couple of days since I arrived. I am currently under the weather (probably due to the climate change or something), and am hoping to recover real soon. And oh yea.. I amazingly lost 6-7 kilos during my time in the US. Maybe it was the whole vegetarian thingy. Hmmm.

I should be fast asleep right now, but I just can't seem to sleep since I'm so ecstatic.. why you ask? Well it's pretty obvious if you're a footy fan and you know that I'm a passionate fan of Manchester United... Here it goes..

MANCHESTER UNITED ARE CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE
Winners of UEFA Champions League 2007/08 by a dramatic penalty shootout against Chelsea. 1-1 on full-time and after extra-time, 6-5 on penalties.

Yea baby! How the heck do you expect me to sleep after just observing one of the most nerve-wrecking penalty shootouts ever! Crazy stuff. There's really an incredible lot of talking points in and around the whole match, but I guess I'll save it for personal conversations.. hehe. In the NBA, the Lakers are in the Western Conference semi-finals against the San Antonio Spurs in what promises to be a truly mouth-watering clash.

Okie.. enough of sports for now. What about my finals ya ask? Well I haven't got all my results just as yet, but I'm pretty amazed I got an A for CHE 302.. what after being unsure of almost every single thing I wrote on my final paper? Lol. Other subjects seem good, and am waiting on the results for a couple more including Organic Chem.

That's about it for now. And important note for all my friends.. my new cellphone number is 017-3135272 (for the 3 months I'll be in Malaysia). So yea, gimme a call if you're in Malaysia, and we could hang out and catch a movie or two. :p Till then, cheerios!
